Want to know my understanding about the path in our life and the choices we make?

I made a little (visual) poem about it. See it above and read below. 🙏🏽❤️⁣

The Path you take,
⁣leads to many
⁣possible others,

that leads again
⁣to many more.

Quantum mechanics tells us:

Each possibility,
creates a new reality.

But does it only seem like so, or are they always here,
infinitely?

Are we a linear movement through a non-linear structure?

Where the passage of time is experienced by travelling from event to event?

To choose your destination.
Take time as a companion.
And follow your intuition,
⁣that guides you by the hand?

‘You can be who you aim to be.’��⁣
⁣
Would then be true.

After creating the morning sunrise, seen in the previous post, I continued my recent findings of the blob brush to create a daytime scenery of a mix between a tropical yet urban environment.   I’ve dreamt a lot of living near a tropical coast in the east, that has a touch of city to it as well. One day, after this is all and done, it might happen. Until then, I will keep the vision alive. ⁣

During the first stages of lockdown I experimented further with a new technique I started in 2019. ⁣
⁣
Basically only using a flat blob brush in illustrator and try avoid the eraser or the delete button as much as possible.   At that time, unknowingly what’s about to happen and staying inside, I longed to the serenity of the tropical coasts.   I can imagine, one day, I will live my last years in a place like this. ⁣

Why does discrimination exist in human kind?⁣

This question got me going during these surreal last few months,
filled with identity politics and racial questions.

⁣
We all know that racism is a form of discrimination but discrimination isn't racism only. ⁣
⁣
Discrimination is exclusion based on differences. ⁣
⁣
So why do we as humans almost inherently discriminate? ⁣
⁣
Here are my thoughts and keep in mind that I know nothing.

It's merely a single perspective on the whole Truth.⁣
⁣

This is my only way of reasoning why racism is still at play through out the world in my opinion.

Looking at this model I believe that once a marginalised group is demarginalised, another group is waiting in line to be punched down upon. Because the system is allowing racism to seep through its cracks.
____
Message to me and maybe others: "What can you do?"
Dig deep into your own sense of materialism and consumerism. Do you really need those new pair of sneakers, clothes, furniture, gadgets and other stuff?
____
And to my fellow creatives: �Be aware who your client or boss is.
____
Meanwhile, think for other ways to improve our trading system. Where there is no need for oppression to be successful as a business. Businesses should be problem solvers,
not problem providers. But in a faulty system, most of them are both.
____
Also keep in mind:�� It’s important to not feel guilty for living in this current system.�� You are human, and need the essential resources provided in this system to survive.
____
I truly wish there was a flip-the-switch challenge for this. ��But the only partners for true growth are vision and time.
____
These are merely my thoughts and information that I’ve gathered throughout the years.�
Lectures by people like Kevin Bales, David Simon, Cornel West and common sense.

I am not telling you The Truth, I am only believing this is true.

Always think for yourself.

As I’ve worked for many cultural organisations in my career, I owe a big big thank you to all of you! 🙏🏽 _____ About this post, a big bless to the @hiphophuis who gave me the honour to illustrate their yearly program for 2019/2020! _ Their motto for this year is Aspire To Inspire. HHH wanted three visual outings for their paintwork and want to show their growth to adulthood and awareness.

To show growth I decided to make three portraits of the same individual in the course of their life where hiphop culture is of influence.
_
In these stages the individual is Inspired as a yungin’, Aspired as a young adult and Inspiring as a grown lady.
_
To emphasise the motto, I used the chin-up as a metaphor as well. ‘Looking up to’ is inspired, Chin up as in ‘I gots this.’ and Looking up in the form of bliss.
_

Commission @martijnbless : I feel obliged to start off by asking you all to love one another and yourself.
A lot has been said about this covid moment being a reset point, which I truly belief it is.
Reset on our worths, ideals, priorities, career, succes, enjoyment, everything.
We are all forced inwards, be pleased to meet you.
If I may give a contribution it’s the suggestion to keep your heart open, turn the eyes inward and let go of things you can’t control.
